Deconstruction of a Form by ~EightWeeksYesterday is a magnificent specimen of mixed media, featuring consummate handling of exquisite geometric layering juxtaposed with a highly dominating and definitive palette. Please enjoy a closer look. (Suggested by =Ek0s and Featured by ^snowmask)

I love this~~ the only thing that looks odd to me is the bright piece in the right hand corner, itsjust I bit too bright, it draws your eye away.

Did you paint the figure in oil? or is it a photo?

Take a look at my gallery for oil paintings of figures, portraits, still life and more... [link]

i'm really happy you like it :D the face is a photo, yes, but it's been through several washes in oil, turpentine and such. above all, I look at this as a collage, not a painting, though there was considerable amounts of oil paints involved :)

Amazing job -- you've created such dimension on what I'm assuming is an otherwise flat surface. Really beautiful :)

My only suggestions would be to consider the placement of the red in her chest-area -- it seems a bit too concentrated, whereas you've beautifully highlighted and contrasted the other parts of the composition.

thanks :D what would you suggest--adding more red elsewhere, or making it less intense in that one area?

This is an exceptionally exquisite journey into mysticism. So, so many effects and moods pour forth from the image as to be hypnotic. The magical Mistress seems at one moment to be fading into a solid object such as an ancient oak tree. In the next she seems to be emerging from beneath a waterfall against a rocky background. Then you look again and you cannot tell if she is coming or going but it seems as if she is manifesting as if having been transported from another dimension and she is taking on three dimensional form from what ever dimension she began, OR is fading into another dimension. i find the blend of very pronounced portions and much more bled out areas to work in a completely compelling concert. The danger i see is in looking for as long as you could be persuaded to by the bewitching beauty in that she could eventually convince you of anything, she could tell you all kinds of tales pleasing to the soul and then where would she have you go? The Addictive alluring Lady may draw you right into her realm with her and speculate about what you appeared to be from her perspective for pleasure.

haha this is so great! :D your comment completely made my day!! (i'm going to go tell the model right now) ;) that's the best compliment I've gotten in a really long time! you have a great way with words too. i'm happy you found my art moving :)
:icondrigulch:
Oh Mistress artist, i am not so sure that you should mention the word "moving" as i ponder your permeating portrait, i do so think that the dynamic duo of Sculptress and subject might well make me seasick if you start to unwind words with as much motion as the potion of the portrait. i freely grant my devotion, please allow me a moment before you ladies take me out on the ocean.

i really love this work! cracking good show.
